Your body has been fasting during the night while you’ve been asleep, so you have much less energy when you get up than you would have. That’s why it’s sometimes a good idea to work out after you’ve eaten, because you have more energy than you would normally have. Fasted workouts were well for some people, but most of us will need to consume a source of energy before we actually proceed with working out.
